In Memory of Nick, page 3

Nick was a wonderful pet. He seemed to know when we were coming home and would always be at the door to meet us. Once we went to a cat show and we overheard a woman bragging that her cat was very affectionate and, “…needed no warm-up time.” That was our Nick. Affection was his middle name and he never needed any warm-up time. He was always a gentleman, courtly even. Don and I had many fantasies about him and his manners and what he would be like as a person—very dapper with smoking jackets, vests, pocket watches and umbrellas and overshoes, but always very gentle and kind. He was sweet to all the children who ever visited, allowing them to pet him. Actually he was curious and would come out to see all guests at just the appropriate time

We will miss you Nick-Knack. A sweeter pet I cannot imagine.
